Youth Pathways
The Get Set For Work (GSFW) program is a Queensland Government initiative funded by the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation and facilitated by The Bremer Institute of TAFE.
Get Set For Work is a pre-employment program for disadvantaged young people aged 15 - 17 who have or may disengage from school. The program aims to re-engage these young people with employment and learning options to enhance their future employment options.
This can be through assisting them to:
-
secure an apprenticeship or traineeship
-
participate in further education and learning options
-
gain sustainable employment.
It is expected that with the support of The Bremer's Get Set For Work staff, participants will build the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to enable them to succeed in accessing further learning and/or employment opportunities.
Unique aspects of the program include:
-
customised program for each participant which may include work experience
-
a high level of personal support
-
no cost to eligible participants
-
small class sizes.
