Cancellations, withdrawals and refunds

Cancellations

Whilst every endeavour will be made to conduct all advertised courses, the Institute reserves the right to change or cancel timetables, class locations, course offerings, teachers and other such details or circumstances beyond our control that affect enrolments. Every effort will be made to advise students of any changes. Students automatically receive a refund in this instance.

Withdrawals and refunds

How to withdraw from a class or program

  1. Contact the Customer Service Centre   to formally withdraw
  2. Complete and submit a Refund application form [PDF 49kb] if you believe you are eligible for a refund as specified in the TAFE QLD Refund Policy
  3. Notify your teacher of the classes in which you will no longer be enrolled.

Note:

TAFE Queensland refund policy

A student will receive a refund if:

A student may receive a refund, less $10 administration charge per cancellation if:

An Application For Refund form can be obtained from the Customer Service Centre and must be completed and presented to the Customer Service Centre together with the original receipt.

For cancellations after the commencement date (QTAC, illness etc) supporting documentation must also be presented prior to the completion of module assessment.

When a refund is less than the $10 administration charge per application, no refund will be processed. For formal contracted courses, any changes will need to be negotiated between parties involved (e.g. company contracts).

Refunds may take two to three weeks to process.

Appeals

A person who is refused a fee exemption, refund, or time to pay, may, within fourteen (14) days after written notice is given, apply to the Director Corporate Services for re-consideration of the refusal.
