RPL Process

Follow this step by step process to apply for recognition of prior learning.

  1. Information and support
    Complete a Skills First Indicator.
    Discuss your RPL potential with a Bremer TAFE assessor and obtain an RPL application kit. Develop an Evidence Plan.
  2. Collect evidence
    You will be provided with support and advice in collecting evidence.
    Compile evidence in accordance with Evidence Plan. Schedule a workplace visit if required.
  3. Submit RPL application
    Complete RPL Application Form, New Student Personal Details Form, Enrolment Selection Form and Advanced Standing Form (if applicable) and submit with Fee Payment to the Customer Service Centre - Enrolments.
    Fees will be no higher than students would normally be required to pay.
  4. Interview/workplace visit
    Assessor will contact you to arrange an interview or workplace visit to substantiate claims and review evidence.
    • Have you gathered sufficient evidence? Yes / No
      • No: Client to gather further evidence
        You will be assessed through a combination of observation, practical demonstrations and third party verification.
    • Was assessment completed successfully? Yes / No
      • Yes: RPL is granted
        Certificate(s) or Statement of Attainment is issued or, if the RPL assessment has been only partially successful then 'skills gap training' can be provided (fees applicable).
