History

Established in 1891, The Bremer Institute of TAFE was previously known as the Ipswich College of TAFE - one of the earliest Technical and Further Education facilities in Queensland.

Our people

Bremer's teaching and support staff have the experience to custom design training programs to meet the changing and highly individual needs of business and industry.

To ensure that our teachers are kept abreast of changing industry trends and developments, the Institute has embarked on a significant industry release program for its entire educational delivery staff.

This guarantees that students are provided with the most up-to-date skills and knowledge. This, in turn, makes our graduates highly attractive to employers because of their 'job readiness'.

Location

Campus locations serve the growing training needs of Brisbane's burgeoning population in the southwest corridor. This area includes the rural shires of Esk, Boonah, Laidley and Gatton, the City of Ipswich and the western suburbs of Brisbane. The region covers an area of approximately 8027 square kilometres, with a population of over 200,000. The Bremer Institute of TAFE offers ideal open spaces, easy access to modern city life, excellent public transport and a strong, supportive local community.

Ipswich provides the very best city, town and country living. It is Queensland's oldest provincial city, and as such, has more than 2000 heritage homes and buildings dating back to 1858. The Ipswich City Council is continuously undertaking exciting and progressive projects that will ensure the region, with its diverse range of cultures and lifestyles, remains a great place to live, study and work.
